  • Unraveling the pharmacokinetics and toxicological mechanisms of pharmaceuticals

Message

This laboratory aims to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the pharmacokinetics and toxicity of drugs, with the goal of developing safer drug discovery and drug therapies.

To ensure that new medicines can be used safely, it is essential to correctly understand how they move through the bodyand why side effects occur. However, with current research methods, it is sometimes difficult to fully predict the adverse effects that may appear in actual patients.

In our laboratory, we integrate diverse fields such as pharmacokinetics, toxicology, and cell culture engineering, working on both elucidating the mechanisms underlying drug safety and developing new evaluation methods that more closely reflect human biology.

We carry out our research together with colleagues who share the aspiration: “We want to build systems that more accurately predict drug safety.”
